UYO FASHION FORWARD 2015

At a keenly-contested event at the recent Uyo Fashion Forward Week at Aroma House, Uyo showcasing many brilliant designs, Christiana Williams emerged winner of the Kardynal Style Selection Young Designers Award.
The much anticipated contest which was the opening event at the Uyo Fashion Forward Week provided an opportunity for six up-and-coming designers to showcase their women-wear designs.

The designers included Nancy Ogbedu (Duach), Jennifer Akong (Mania by Jennifer Akong), Aniefiok Umoh (Ann Jacob), Amanda Akah (Amanda Mykel), David Obed (Macdobee) and Christina Williams (Christiana Williams).
The young designers were required to design and showcase original red carpet worthy collection of five dresses each, including, Haute Couture, Bridal, Eveningwear, Casual and Swimwear designed in fabrics of their choice.
Christiana Williams’ debut collection succinctly tagged ‘Loud’ and by beauty editor, Jennifer Obiuwevbi featured in bellanaija.com in 2013, and the humbling reviews encouraged her to do more. She discovered her love for fashion design at a young age like most designers and decided to make it a career.

As winner of the KSSYDA, she is entitled to three Months fashion design course at Fashion Academy Lagos, three months internship at Feron Nigeria, one year free corporate branding by Obufaa Ltd, Professional LookBook by JesusBuck Photography, cover feature & fashion spread in Plumage magazine, model support by K-Mode Management and a year online support by www,wetinhappen.com.ng, apart from a cash prize of N200,000 sponsored by Expetro Energy.
